RAVINDER BHARDWAJ
PhD Student
Ravinder is an MRC-DTP PhD student in COMPARE, a unique cross-University research centre between the Universities of Birmingham and Nottingham. He is expanding his expertise in Molecular Biology, Pharmacology, and Genetics, applying these skills to investigate the role of prostanoid receptors, particularly human prostacyclin receptors, in platelet activation. He has identified several rare mutations in this receptor in patients with bleeding disorders and conducts molecular and structural characterization to understand their impact on haemostasis.

Through his research, he has found evidence suggesting that prostacyclin and thromboxane receptors together play a crucial role in the cardiovascular system, an area he aims to explore further.

Previously, Ravinder worked at higher education research institutes across the UK, gaining cross-disciplinary expertise in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Cancer Biology, and Medical Mycology.
He welcomes collaborations on medically relevant projects and discussions on career opportunities.
